This is my Senator

And I love this picture! I must admit that I was VERY skeptical of Kirsten Gillibrand when she was initially appointed to her position. I don’t like appointments and connections and such. But she has impressed me and has now been elected in her own right. While the deliberate distraction her child is attempting is pretty funny (and nearly succesfull–look at her just barely-there hand on the Bible), my favorite part of this picture is his clothes: untucked, unmatched, unshoed, cooky socks surely not meant to be displayed to all the world. That’s my kind of child couture.
